# NCPC's subsidiary has obtained the CEP certificate for Sulfomycetin B active pharmaceutical ingredient

According to the Zhitong Finance APP, North China Pharmaceutical (600812.SH) announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, North China Pharmaceutical Huasheng Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Huasheng Company"), has recently received the European Pharmacopoeia suitability certificate for Polymyxin B Sulfate chemical raw materials issued by the European Medicines Agency.

Polymyxin B Sulfate is used to treat acute infections caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa sensitive strains and is the first-choice drug for treating urinary tract, meningitis, and bloodstream infections caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa sensitive strains. When drugs with lower potential toxicity are ineffective or contraindicated, this product can be used for severe infections caused by sensitive strains of the following microorganisms: Haemophilus influenzae, especially meningitis; Escherichia coli, especially urinary tract infections; Klebsiella pneumoniae, especially bacteremia
