OpenAI initially relied on Microsoft's cloud services, but as business demands increased, it has now included Google, Microsoft, CoreWeave, and Oracle in its list of cloud service providers. This move is a positive development for Google's cloud business, which is smaller and has been established for a shorter time. OpenAI signed a cloud services agreement worth nearly $12 billion with CoreWeave and reached a preferential purchasing agreement with Microsoft According to Zhitong Finance APP, OpenAI announced on Wednesday that it will use Google's (GOOGL.US) cloud infrastructure to run its popular chatbot ChatGPT. This effort to expand computing power aligns with OpenAI's desire for more computing resources, as the company initially relied entirely on Microsoft (MSFT.US) for cloud service resources, but now its business demands are increasingly robust, requiring more computing power to meet those needs. Subsequently, the relationship between the two companies has changed, with Microsoft listing OpenAI as a competitor last year. Both companies provide artificial intelligence tools for developers and subscription services for businesses. OpenAI has included Google in its list of suppliers, explicitly stating that ChatGPT and its application programming interface will use the Google Cloud Platform, in addition to resources from Microsoft, CoreWeave (CRWV.US), and Oracle (ORCL.US). This news is a significant boost for Google, as its cloud business unit is younger and smaller than those of Amazon (AMZN.US) and Microsoft. Additionally, Google is collaborating with Anthropic, a company founded by former OpenAI executives, on cloud business initiatives. Google's infrastructure will operate in the United States, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, and the United Kingdom. Last year, Oracle announced it would collaborate with Microsoft and OpenAI to "extend Microsoft's Azure AI platform to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure" to provide OpenAI with more computing power. In March of this year, OpenAI signed a five-year cloud service agreement with CoreWeave, valued at nearly $12 billion. In January, Microsoft stated that it had agreed to a model where it would provide priority purchasing rights when OpenAI needs more computing resources, rather than always being its sole supplier. Microsoft still holds exclusive rights to use the OpenAI programming interface. OpenAI co-founder and CEO Sam Altman stated in April that OpenAI, which utilizes NVIDIA (NVDA.US) GPUs to drive its large language models, is facing capacity constraints ### Related Stocks - [GOOG.US - Alphabet - C](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/GOOG.US.md) - [GGLS.US - Direxion Daily Googl Bear 1x Shares](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/GGLS.US.md) - [GGLL.US - Direxion Daily GOOGL Bull 2X Shares](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/GGLL.US.md) ## Related News & Research | Title | Description | URL | |-------|-------------|-----| | TCTC Holdings LLC Lowers Holdings in Alphabet Inc. $GOOG | TCTC Holdings LLC has reduced its stake in Alphabet Inc.
