The integration of Guotai Haitong (601211.SH) is ongoing.
On the evening of July 25, Guotai Haitong announced that the board of directors has approved the absorption merger of Guotai Junan Asset Management and Haitong Asset Management along with related work plans.
According to the arrangement, the name of Guotai Junan Asset Management will be changed to &#34;Shanghai Guotai Haitong Securities Asset Management Co., Ltd.&#34;
The name change is just the first step; the absorption merger of the asset management companies mainly includes key steps such as product migration and legal entity merger, which will be implemented in a timely manner based on the progress of product migration.
This is not only the first subsidiary integration initiated after the establishment of Guotai Haitong Securities, but it will also become the first merger and reorganization between brokerage asset management subsidiaries in the domestic securities industry.
After the integration is completed, the asset management scale of the two will approach 700 billion yuan.
As of the end of 2024, the asset management scale of Guotai Junan Asset Management is 588.43 billion yuan, of which the non-monetary public offering scale is 48.4 billion yuan; during the same period, Haitong Asset Management is 106.982 billion yuan, totaling 695.412 billion yuan.
This still shows a certain gap compared to the leading CITIC Securities (600030.SH), whose asset management has reached 1.54 trillion yuan during the same period.
The merger of the two will build a stronger asset management business platform and a more complete wealth management ecosystem for Guotai Haitong.
A person close to Guotai Haitong told Xinfeng that the company is currently promoting the integration of various subsidiaries in batches and in an orderly manner according to regulatory requirements. In addition to the initiation of the integration of the asset management company, there are no clear integration plans for other subsidiaries yet.
With the launch of the merger of the asset management company under Guotai Haitong, the integration of other businesses is being anticipated.
