# Alibaba Cloud Vice President Ye Jieping: Large models have shown a "weekly iteration" explosive trend

On July 27th, Alibaba showcased its latest three open-source large models at the 2025 World Artificial Intelligence Conference. Ye Jieping, Vice President of Alibaba Cloud and head of the Big Data and Intelligent Laboratory, stated that the current AI model technology is undergoing a historic transformation from "incremental innovation" to "exponential leap": "In 2019, we were still discussing breakthrough language models, and by today in 2025, large models have shown an explosive trend of 'weekly iterations.' Open-source models represented by Tongyi Qianwen have become an important force in this transformation."
