French shipping giant CMA CGM is seeking to participate in CK Hutchison Holdings' (00001.HK) sale of 43 ports. CMA CGM's Chief Financial Officer Ramon Fernandez stated that they are closely monitoring the situation and are very interested in directly participating in this unresolved transaction.

CMA CGM is the world's third-largest container shipping company, and Fernandez noted that the deal with CK Hutchison is very important for the industry and as a major player in the sector.

This week, CK Hutchison announced that the exclusive negotiation period with a consortium for the sale of the ports has expired, but the group is still in discussions with consortium members and plans to invite major strategic investors from the mainland to join as important members of the consortium
