# Minsheng Securities: Hainan Launch Site "Dual Position" Relay Accelerates Satellite Internet Launches

According to the Zhitong Finance APP, Minsheng Securities released a research report stating that on the evening of August 4, China successfully launched the satellite internet low Earth orbit group 07 satellites using the Long March 12 carrier rocket at the Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site. The "relay" rocket launch at the dual-position Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site signifies the verification of China's first commercial space launch site's high-frequency launch capability. Currently, the GW constellation has completed the on-orbit deployment of seven satellite groups; the Qianfan constellation has completed five launches, with the number of on-orbit satellites reaching 90. The satellite internet industry ecosystem is gaining momentum, and the commercial space industry landscape is gradually taking shape. The development path of the satellite internet industry is becoming increasingly clear.

## The main points of Minsheng Securities are as follows:

**Event:** On August 4, 2025, at 18:21, China successfully launched the satellite internet low Earth orbit group 07 satellites using the Long March 12 carrier rocket at the Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site. Previously, China launched two groups of satellites on July 27 and July 30, successfully launching three groups of satellites within nine days, indicating that the satellite internet has entered the era of high-density launches.

**The GW constellation has completed the on-orbit deployment of seven satellite groups; the intensive launch situation is prominent.**

1. Planning: According to Xinhua News, the GW constellation plans to launch a total of 12,992 satellites, including 6,080 satellites in the GW-A59 sub-constellation, distributed in the extremely low orbit of 500-600 kilometers; and 6,912 satellites in the GW-A2 sub-constellation, distributed in the near-Earth orbit of 1,145 kilometers. The GW constellation is expected to complete the launch of 10% of its satellites before 2030; after 2030, the average annual launch volume will reach 1,800 satellites.

2. Progress: On December 16, 2024, the satellite internet low Earth orbit group 01 satellites were successfully launched, marking a significant milestone. Since 2025, China has launched six groups of satellite internet low Earth orbit satellites on February 11, April 29, June 6, July 27, July 30, and August 4. Since the end of July, the GW constellation has shown a prominent intensive launch situation.

**The Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site has been initiated, and the construction of positions three and four is underway.**

1. Dual-position "relay" launch: On August 4, 2025, China launched the satellite internet low Earth orbit group 07 satellites from position two at the Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site. On July 30, the satellite internet low Earth orbit group 06 satellites were launched from position one at the same launch site. The "relay" rocket launch at the dual-position Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site signifies the verification of China's first commercial space launch site's high-frequency launch capability.

2. Successfully completed four launches: The Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site, located in Wenchang, Hainan, has set a speed record for the construction of medium-sized liquid rocket launch sites, starting construction in June 2022; the first flight from position two is scheduled for December 2024 (satellite internet technology experimental satellite 03); the first flight from position one is scheduled for March 2025 (Qianfan polar orbit group 05 satellites); positions one and two successfully launched two groups of satellites in July and August, respectively.

3. The second phase project has commenced construction: On January 25, 2025, the second phase project of the Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site began construction, which includes the launch area, technology area, and Gusu measurement and control station, with the construction of two new launch positions, three and four, each with an annual launch capacity of 16 launches **Qianfan Constellation Completes Five Launches, 90 Satellites in Orbit**

4. The fifth batch of Qianfan constellation network satellites was successfully launched: On March 12, 2025, the fifth batch of Qianfan constellation network satellites was launched using the "one rocket, 18 satellites" method. This marks the first time that Yuanxin Satellite has completed the launch of Qianfan constellation network satellites at the Hainan commercial space launch site, representing the successful collaborative operation of commercial constellations and commercial launch sites for the first time, opening a new application practice for China's commercial aerospace industry chain. This launch also marks Yuanxin Satellite's first use of the Long March 8 rocket to execute the launch mission for Qianfan constellation network satellites, providing stronger support for the rapid deployment of the Qianfan constellation through the application of more diverse rocket models and the adaptation of launch site resources.

5. The "one rocket, multiple satellites" technology for flat-panel satellite stacking is mature: The Qianfan constellation is China's first giant low-orbit commercial satellite constellation to enter the formal networking stage. It adopts a full-band, multi-layer, multi-orbit constellation design, with all core technologies and industrial chains fully under independent control. The launch of Qianfan constellation network satellites is all conducted using the "one rocket, 18 satellites" method, proving that China's flat-panel satellite stacking "one rocket, multiple satellites" launch technology has matured.

**Investment Recommendations**

Currently, the GW constellation has completed the deployment of seven groups of satellites in orbit; the Qianfan constellation has completed five launches, with the number of satellites in orbit reaching 90. The satellite internet industry ecosystem is gaining momentum, and the commercial aerospace industry landscape is gradually taking shape. The development path of the satellite internet industry is becoming increasingly clear. On the manufacturing side, technological innovation lays the foundation for large-scale production; on the launch side, the utilization of commercial aerospace launch sites and the development of reusable rocket technology will significantly reduce launch costs and enhance capacity. In addition, breakthroughs in mobile direct satellite connection technology have opened up vast and lasting demand space for the industry.
