# Apple rises over 5% as reports say Cook will announce a $100 billion investment plan with Trump this afternoon

According to foreign media reports, Apple (AAPL.US) CEO Tim Cook will attend an event with President Trump on Wednesday, where he is expected to announce Apple's new $100 billion investment commitment in the United States. Apple's stock price has recently risen by over 5%.

The report cites White House officials confirming that Apple will announce the news at 4:30 PM Eastern Time in the Oval Office, which includes Apple's commitment to a new "Made in America" initiative.

The official stated that with the new commitment, Apple's total investment in the United States over the next four years will reach $600 billion
