The Hong Kong Productivity Council partners with Lalamove to launch the "Artificial Intelligence Driving Behavior Prediction System" to enhance road safety
The on-demand delivery platform Lalamove, in collaboration with the Advanced Energy and Smart Transportation Center (APAS) under the Hong Kong Productivity Council, has launched the "Artificial Intelligence Driving Behavior Prediction System" (the System) with the support of the Innovation and Technology Fund (ITF) to accurately predict driver behavior. This technology will soon be integrated into Lalamove's mobile application, utilizing artificial intelligence to identify and reduce dangerous driving behaviors, enhancing road safety and opening a new chapter in smart travel for drivers and citizens.
According to reports, the System employs machine learning, sensor technology, and cloud computing to operate smoothly without affecting the daily work of drivers. It is equipped with a cloud inference engine for backend data analysis and can monitor driving behavior in real-time and provide feedback. Additionally, through a data dashboard, the System helps identify potential risks and optimize decision-making, closely aligning with Lalamove's daily operational needs.
The System collects driving data in real-time through mobile sensors, accurately detecting high-risk driving behaviors such as rapid acceleration, sudden braking, frequent lane changes, and using a mobile phone while driving. The project is conducted in multiple phases, including data collection, data labeling, model training, artificial intelligence development, and accuracy validation, to establish a comprehensive driving behavior scoring system that promotes safe driving habits. Through continuous training and artificial intelligence detection to improve driving behavior, the System will also respect driver privacy and minimize excessive monitoring.
The Chief Innovation Officer of the Hong Kong Productivity Council and General Manager of APAS, Dou Yonghai, emphasized the project's significant importance, stating that this initiative not only demonstrates the power of innovative technology but also reflects a firm commitment to promoting sustainable transportation development and a culture of safe driving in Hong Kong.
Lalamove's Director of Corporate Affairs, Li Zhipeng, stated that this initiative not only enhances road safety levels but also increases user trust in the platform, while creating more income opportunities for driver partners, further promoting the development of the platform economy
