This variant, which debuted in Europe, is positioned as the premium option above other trims. Deliveries are expected to start in December 2025. The Model Y Performance features enhanced speed and handling, with a 0–60 mph time of 3.3 seconds and a range of 495 km. Upgrades include adaptive damping suspension, new tech features, and improved comfort elements in the cabin. Tesla has officially launched the Model Y Performance in Australia and New Zealand. The top-of-the-line Model Y variant was first launched in Europe and the Middle East last month. According to Tesla’s Design Studio, the Model Y Performance is priced at AUD$89,400 in Australia, which translates to about $81,150 in Canada or $58,350 in the U.S. In New Zealand, the starting cost is NZD$100,900, or roughly C$82,400/US$59,100. These figures position the Performance variant as Tesla’s most premium Model Y option in both countries, sitting above the Long Range and Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) trims. Customers who place orders now can expect the first deliveries to begin in December 2025. Interestingly, the Model Y Performance debuted in Europe last month, a region that is supplied from Giga Berlin, which announced last week it had started production of the Performance variant. Australia and New Zealand are typically supplied by Giga Shanghai, yet there has been no announcement or indication that Giga Shanghai has started production. Additionally, the Model Y Performance has not been added to the Design Studio in China, which you has always happened first before it appears in markets like Australia and New Zealand. This could mean Australian Model Y buyers will be getting their new cars from Giga Berlin, and not Giga Shanghai. The Model Y Performance brings a host of upgrades aimed at enhancing speed, handling, and comfort. Exterior changes include redesigned front and rear fascias, optimized wheels and tires, and a carbon fiber spoiler to improve aerodynamics and stability at higher speeds. Performance has been sharpened with a quicker 0–60 mph time of 3.3 seconds, a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph), and a range of about 495 km (308 miles). Tesla has also introduced adaptive damping suspension, new drive modes, staggered wheels, and upgraded brakes, making the SUV more responsive and composed on the road. Inside, Tesla has paired these performance improvements with new comfort and tech features. The front sport seats now offer ventilation, heating, and adjustable thigh support, while the rear seats add heating and power recline. Noise levels are reduced thanks to extra sound-damping materials and acoustic glass.
