# China Stocks Muted Amid Potential Trade Talks With US

(MT Newswires) -- China shares closed flat in negative territory on Friday, reversing from gains in the early afternoon trade, as the momentum for upcoming talks between China and the US waned.

The Shanghai Composite Index fell marginally to cap the weekend at 3,870.60. The Shenzhen Component Index dropped 0.4%, or 55.76 points, to 12,924.14.

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent plans to continue trade talks with Chinese senior officials, including Vice Premier He Lifeng, in Spain, according to a Reuters report on Friday.

The discussions will cover joint efforts against money laundering as well as the status of the short video platform operator TikTok.

In corporate news, Chuzhou Duoli Automotive Technology (SHE:001311) closed 3% lower amid plans to establish a joint venture with Ederlan Subsidiaries in Spain for 504.6 million yuan.
