# Beijing Fengtai: A technology company is born every eight minutes on average

This year, Fengtai District has delivered an impressive report: in the first half of the year, the regional GDP reached 121.42 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.1%; fixed asset investment completed 49 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 14.2%. Through the expansion action of high-tech enterprises, the number of national high-tech enterprises in Fengtai District has increased to 3,710, ranking second in the city, with 72 national-level specialized and innovative "little giant" enterprises and 17 unicorns and potential unicorn enterprises. Through the foundation-building action for technology enterprises, from January to August this year, Fengtai District established over 28,500 new enterprises, a year-on-year increase of 136%, the highest growth rate in the city, with the increase of technology-based enterprises accounting for 14% of the city's total, and a new technology enterprise being established on average every 8 minutes
