# CICC Chief Information Officer Cheng Long: Large models provide new engines and opportunities for paradigm reconstruction in the securities industry

On September 24th, the "2025 China Securities Industry Digital Practice Summit Forum" hosted by the Securities Times was grandly held in Beijing. Cheng Long, Chief Information Officer of CICC, delivered a keynote speech titled "AI Restructuring the Competitive Paradigm and Value Creation in the Securities Industry." He stated that large models provide new engines and opportunities for the restructuring of paradigms in the securities industry. The financial industry is a knowledge-intensive and highly specialized field, where traditional IT systems based on databases focus on the value extraction of explicit knowledge such as structured data, but struggle to utilize a large amount of unstructured data both internally and externally. Large models, as a revolutionary new technology, transform and sediment human professional know-how and experience, thereby activating the utilization of all digital assets of enterprises
