# ST HIKING: Independent director resigns, Xing Congming added as a candidate

Recently, the board of directors of Shandong HIKING International Co., Ltd. received a written resignation letter from independent director Chu Xuri, who resigned from his position for personal reasons and will no longer hold office after his resignation. Chu Xuri's original term was set to end on August 18, 2028. His resignation will reduce the proportion of independent directors to below one-third, so the resignation letter will take effect after the shareholders' meeting elects a new independent director, during which he will continue to perform his duties. After review by the board's nomination committee, the third meeting of the 14th board of directors approved the appointment of Xing Congming as an independent director candidate for the 14th board, with a term from the second extraordinary shareholders' meeting in 2025 until the end of the 14th board's term.
