# The express delivery price increase continues: Industry insiders say that starting in October, express delivery fees in Sichuan will be raised

The head of a logistics point in Sichuan told reporters that starting from October 1, express delivery fees in the Sichuan region will be increased. Currently, many provinces and cities across the country have raised express delivery prices, mainly targeting the collection prices for e-commerce packages. Industry insiders told Yicai that from a timeline perspective, Zhejiang Province was the first region to raise express delivery fees. In mid-July, the Yiwu area was the first to increase prices, with the base price rising from 1.1 yuan per order to 1.2 yuan per order, and the Hangzhou area seeing an increase of 0.3 to 0.5 yuan per ticket. By August, express delivery companies in Guangdong collectively raised their base prices, with the average unit price increasing to over 1.4 yuan. Subsequently, some regions such as Fujian and Jiangsu also announced price increases; for example, in Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province, the average price per ticket increased by about 0.4 yuan in August. From the end of August to mid-September, many places notified logistics points to raise prices. Hunan Province, Anhui Province, Jiangxi Province, Hubei Province, and Liaoning Province successively announced price increases, ranging from 0.1 yuan to 0.4 yuan per order, with some regions setting minimum prices. In September, five express delivery companies, including YUNDA, YTO, and ZTO Express, announced an increase in collection prices in the Shanghai area on September 22, with increases reported to be between 0.2 yuan and 0.4 yuan. Express logistics expert Zhao Xiaomin told reporters that considering the purpose of this price increase is to create a fair and orderly market competition environment, it is expected that prices will gradually rise across the country. At the same time, Zhao Xiaomin believes that the free shipping mechanism for express delivery may also undergo changes
