The expenditures for the employee basic medical insurance were 881.188 billion yuan, and the expenditures for the urban and rural residents' basic medical insurance were 662.032 billion yuan

The latest data from the National Healthcare Security Administration shows that from January to August 2025, the total revenue of the basic medical insurance pooling fund in China was 1,880.994 billion yuan, while the total expenditure was 1,543.220 billion yuan, indicating a stable overall operation of the basic medical insurance fund. According to data released on the official website of the National Healthcare Security Administration, in terms of revenue from the basic medical insurance pooling fund, the revenue from the employee basic medical insurance pooling fund was 1,195.462 billion yuan, and the revenue from the urban and rural resident basic medical insurance pooling fund was 685.532 billion yuan. From January to August 2025, the expenditure of the employee basic medical insurance pooling fund was 881.188 billion yuan, of which the expenditure for maternity insurance fund benefits was 89.039 billion yuan; the expenditure of the urban and rural resident basic medical insurance pooling fund was 662.032 billion yuan
