# India's Nifty index rose by 0.2%, with Bharti Airtel leading the gains

> In the Mumbai market, the Indian Nifty 50 index rose by 0.2%, closing at 24,894.25 points, marking its highest level since September 24. Bharti Airtel Limited's stock price increased by 1.6%, making it a major contributor to the index's gains. Tata Steel Limited's stock price rose by 3.4%. Year-to-date, the Nifty 50 index has increased by 5.3%, with a cumulative rise of 1% this week. Over the past 52 weeks, the index has declined by 1.4%

In the Mumbai market, the Nifty 50 index of the National Stock Exchange of India achieved two consecutive gains, rising 0.2% on the day to close at 24,894.25 points. This closing level marks the highest since September 24.

Bharti Airtel Limited contributed the most to the index's gains, with its stock price rising 1.6%; Tata Steel Limited recorded the largest increase, with its stock price rising 3.4%.

On that day, among the 50 constituent stocks of the index, 26 stocks rose while 24 fell.

Year-to-date, the Nifty 50 index has risen 5.3%, poised to achieve its best performance year since 2024.

So far this week, the index has accumulated a rise of 1%.

Over the past 52 weeks, the Nifty 50 index has fallen 1.4%; during the same period, the Morgan Stanley Capital International Asia-Pacific Index has risen 15%.

Currently, the Nifty 50 index is 3% lower than the 52-week high of June 30, 2025, and 14.5% higher than the 52-week low reached on April 7, 2025
