# Figma Expands Partnership With Google to Bring Generative AI to Designers

> Figma is expanding its partnership with Google Cloud to integrate generative AI technology into its design tools. The collaboration will utilize Google's Gemini AI models to enhance image generation and editing for Figma's 13 million users, making the process faster and more efficient. Early tests indicate that the new features significantly reduce delays in visual creation. This move aligns with industry trends as competitors like Adobe and Canva also incorporate generative AI into their workflows.

Figma and Google Cloud said they are expanding their partnership to integrate more of Google's generative artificial-intelligence technology into Figma's design and product-development tools.

Under the collaboration, Figma will leverage Google's Gemini AI models--including Gemini 2.5 Flash, Gemini 2.0 and Imagen 4--to power image generation and editing across its platform. The company said Thursday the integration will let its 13 million monthly active users create and refine visuals more quickly, as well as experiment with product ideas inside Figma.

Figma said early tests of Gemini 2.5 Flash made its "Make Image" feature about twice as fast, allowing users to generate and edit visuals with less delay. The company said it will also rely on Google Cloud's AI systems and cybersecurity tools to support its growing lineup of AI features.

"Our collaboration with Google Cloud brings powerful image generation and editing capabilities into Figma that help teams tap into their creativity without breaking their flow," Chief Executive Dylan Field said.

The move comes as design-software makers such as Adobe and Canva race to embed generative AI into creative workflows to speed up production and reduce manual design tasks.
