# XPeng: The new XPeng P7 has mechanical door redundancy both inside and outside the vehicle

> XPeng stated in the latest Q&A session about the new XPeng P7 that the new XPeng P7 features a redundant mechanical door opening design both inside and outside the vehicle. The exterior door handle is an electric pop-out hidden type, which slowly extends when unlocked. In the event of a collision, the vehicle will automatically unlock, and even if the entire vehicle loses power, the doors can still be opened by pulling the door handle or using the mechanical lock inside the vehicle

On October 15th, XPeng stated in the latest Q&A session about the new XPeng P7 that the new XPeng P7 has mechanical door opening redundancy both inside and outside the vehicle. The exterior door handle features an electric retractable hidden door handle, which slowly rotates out when unlocking the central locking or touching the capacitive button at the front of the door handle, allowing the door to be unlocked with a gentle pull. In the event of a collision, the new XPeng P7 will automatically unlock the central locking. Even if the vehicle subsequently experiences a complete power failure, the door can still be mechanically unlocked from the outside by pulling the door handle. Inside the vehicle, the door can be opened by pulling the mechanical lock located below the door panel, which has a yellow warning label attached
