# Shuibei gold price breaks a thousand

> On October 17th, the spot gold price surged significantly, with the gold price in Shenzhen's Shuibei area breaking the 1,000 yuan mark for the first time, reaching 1,004 yuan per gram, setting a new historical high. Merchants indicated that the gold price had increased by 100 yuan per gram within a month, with the price on the 16th being 974 yuan per gram, showing a remarkable rise in a short period. This phenomenon has attracted widespread attention among industry practitioners

On October 17th, spot gold accelerated its rise, reaching a peak of $4,380.79 per ounce; COMEX gold opened higher, breaking through $4,392 per ounce during the session, setting a new historical high. With gold prices skyrocketing, the price of gold in Shenzhen Shui Bei also surpassed 1,000 yuan. On October 17th, several merchants in Shenzhen Shui Bei flooded their social media with posts stating that they woke up to find the gold price in Shui Bei had first broken 1,000, marking the entry of gold into the four-digit era and breaking historical highs. One Shui Bei merchant mentioned that after 25 years in the industry, witnessing gold prices rise from over 100 yuan per gram to now over 1,000 yuan per gram, this is the first time they have seen gold prices break 1,000. In just one month, the price of gold in Shui Bei has increased by 100 yuan per gram. Another Shui Bei merchant stated that on the evening of the 16th, the price of gold in Shui Bei was 974 yuan per gram, and on the 17th, it surged to 1,004 yuan per gram, a jump of about 30 yuan overnight. They have never seen the price of gold in Shui Bei rise so much overnight in their many years in the industry
