This decline reflects a global equity sell-off linked to concerns about US regional banks and credit risks. Major financial stocks like UniCredit and Intesa Sanpaolo faced significant losses. Additionally, defense stock Leonardo fell over 3% amid geopolitical tensions. Other notable declines included Ferrari and STMicroelectronics, exacerbated by rising US-China trade tensions. The FTSE MIB fell more than 2% to around 41,400 on Friday, hitting its lowest level since early August, mirroring a global equity sell-off driven by emerging signs of strain in US regional banks and raising concerns over broader credit risks. Index heavyweight financials were the hardest hit, with sharp losses from UniCredit (-3.1%), Intesa Sanpaolo (-2.5%), Mediobanca (-2.6%), Bper Banca (-3.3%), and Banca Mediolanum (-3.1%). Defence stock Leonardo also slid over 3%, ahead of a high-level meeting in Hungary between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin on developments in Ukraine. Other key stocks in the index also declined, including Ferrari (-2.5%), Assicurazioni Generali (-2.1%), Poste Italiane (-2.5%), Prysmian (-2.6%), and STMicroelectronics (-2.4%). Adding to market weakness were intensifying US–China trade tensions, after China recently accused the US of stirring “panic” over its rare earth mineral controls. ### Related Stocks - [STM.US - STMicroelectronics NV](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/STM.US.md) - [RACE.US - Ferrari](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/RACE.US.md) ## Related News & Research | Title | Description | URL | |-------|-------------|-----| | FERRARI N.V.: PERIODIC REPORT ON THE BUYBACK PROGRAM \| RACE Stock News | Ferrari N.V. has reported on its share buyback program, having purchased 30,293 common shares for a total consideration | [Link](https://longbridge.com/en/news/276070299.md) | | Ferrari Purchases Over 30,000 Own Shares for EUR9 Million | (Alliance News) - Ferrari NV announced that it purchased 30,293 of its own shares between February 9 and 13, at a price | [Link](https://longbridge.com/en/news/276072245.md) | | Looking Into STMicroelectronics NV's Recent Short Interest | STMicroelectronics NV's short interest has increased by 10.53%, with 14.74 million shares sold short, representing 2.31% | [Link](https://longbridge.com/en/news/276248875.md) | | Ferrovie Dello Stato Italiane Places EUR 180 Mln Green Bond | Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane SpA (IPO-FERRO.MI):FERROVIE DELLO STATO ITALIANE SPA - FS PLACES 180 MILLION EURO GREEN BO | [Link](https://longbridge.com/en/news/275642449.md) | | STMicroelectronics CEO Jean-Marc Chery Projects Q1 Revenue Growth Year-Over-Year | STMicroelectronics CEO Jean-Marc Chery Projects Q1 Revenue Growth Year-Over-Year | [Link](https://longbridge.com/en/news/265508677.md) | --- > **Disclaimer**: This article is for reference only and does not constitute any investment advice.
