# SINOTHERAPEUTICS: The Sitagliptin Metformin Extended-Release Tablets have received approval from the U.S. FDA

According to the Zhitong Finance APP, SINOTHERAPEUTICS (688247.SH) announced that the company received a notification from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) stating that the abbreviated new drug application (referred to as “ANDA”, i.e., U.S. generic drug application) for Sitagliptin Metformin Extended-Release Tablets submitted to the U.S. FDA has been temporarily approved. Sitagliptin Metformin Extended-Release Tablets were developed by MERCK SHARPDOHME and were approved for marketing in the U.S. in February 2012, intended for improving blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes
