U.S. Treasury Secretary Becerra stated: "The 'America First' economic agenda proposed by Donald Trump has provided over $2 trillion in tax cuts for the American middle class, reduced the tax burden on small businesses, and streamlined administrative processes, while enabling the U.S. to possess the strength to both counter adversaries and support allies on the international stage. As we are committed to stabilizing and securing the safety of the Western Hemisphere and achieving the goal of 'making America safe again,' the U.S. Treasury has signed an economic stabilization agreement with the Central Bank of Argentina. Today, Argentina has embraced the opportunity for economic freedom, and the stabilization agreement we signed is a bridge to a better economic future for Argentina, rather than a bailout plan. President Milei has focused on reversing the previous irresponsible economic policies, including excessive spending, fiscal mismanagement, and blind debt accumulation. Just this month, the International Monetary Fund reiterated its full support for the strong economic plan being implemented by Argentina. President Trump is playing a leading role in the Western Hemisphere, and this administration supports President Milei's current reform agenda and prudent fiscal strategy to help achieve the goal of 'making Argentina great again.'"
