# Anthropic is in talks with Google for a cloud computing deal worth hundreds of billions of dollars

According to informed sources, Anthropic is in talks with Google, a subsidiary of Alphabet, for a deal that would provide the artificial intelligence company with additional computing power worth tens of billions of dollars.

The plan has not yet been finalized and involves Google providing cloud computing services to Anthropic. Google has previously been an investor and cloud service provider for Anthropic.

Both Anthropic and Google declined to comment. The negotiations are still in the early stages, and details may change. Google’s stock rose more than 3.5% in after-hours trading, while Amazon, which is also an investor and cloud service provider for Anthropic, fell about 2%.

Anthropic was founded in 2021 by former OpenAI employees and is headquartered in San Francisco. It is best known for its Claude series of large language models, which compete with OpenAI's GPT models
