# Elon Musk explains why Tesla does not solely rely on NVIDIA chips

> Elon Musk stated that Tesla focuses more on its own chips rather than solely relying on NVIDIA's GPUs or AI accelerators because Jensen Huang's company must serve a broader customer base. Musk's point is that Tesla is better off keeping it simple by using chips specifically designed for the tasks they need to accomplish (training and running models that support vision-based autonomous driving)
