# Southwest Airlines fell more than 5.8%, with Q3 net profit down more than 19% year-on-year

> Southwest Airlines fell more than 5.8%, closing at $31.78. In terms of news, Southwest Airlines' third-quarter revenue increased by 1.1% year-on-year to $6.95 billion, exceeding market expectations; however, net profit decreased by more than 19% year-on-year to $54 million. Revenue per available seat mile and revenue per available seat mile passenger remained basically flat compared to last year, at $0.153 and $0.139, respectively. The passenger load factor decreased by 140 basis points to 79.8%
