# The three major European aerospace giants will integrate satellite and space businesses to counter Starlink

On the 23rd, the three major European aerospace giants, France's Airbus, Thales, and Italy's Leonardo, signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a new company that will merge their satellite and space businesses to strengthen Europe's strategic autonomy in the space sector. In a joint statement released on the same day, the three parties stated that if regulatory approval is obtained, the new company is expected to officially start operations in 2027, employing approximately 25,000 people across Europe, with an annual revenue expected to reach 6.5 billion euros. France's Le Monde reported that this plan aims to counter the dominance of the United States' SpaceX's Starlink satellite network service
