# Shanxi: Accelerate the improvement of energy supply security, with coal production nearing 1 billion tons in the first three quarters

> As temperatures continue to drop in northern regions, the demand for winter electricity coal has surged, prompting Shanxi, a major coal-producing province, to increase its coal production and supply efforts. On October 25th, reporters learned from the Shanxi Provincial Statistics Department that in the first three quarters of this year, the total output of raw coal in Shanxi reached 97.524 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.7%, accounting for approximately 27.3% of the national output during the same period

With the recent drop in temperatures in northern regions, the demand for winter electricity coal has surged, and the coal-rich province of Shanxi is increasing its efforts to boost coal production and ensure supply. According to the Shanxi Provincial Statistics Department, as of October 25, the total output of raw coal in Shanxi for the first three quarters of this year reached 97.524 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.7%, accounting for approximately 27.3% of the national output during the same period
