# The head of Li Auto's product line discusses the MEGA fire: Over 4 hours before the incident, the cloud reported a battery insulation fault

Tango, the head of the product line at Li Auto, posted on Weibo discussing the fire incident involving the 2024 Li Auto MEGA in Shanghai. He stated that over four hours before the accident, the cloud system reported a battery insulation fault, and customer service contacted both the vehicle controller and the driver. The vehicle even entered a breakdown state due to a small battery discharge and called for rescue. He mentioned that he personally feels this is related to the fact that over 1.4 million vehicles have never experienced battery thermal runaway due to vehicle abnormalities. Perhaps because they have never encountered similar issues, many partners became careless and complacent, which led to a fault that could have been avoided being allowed to operate "with serious insulation faults," thus evolving into a major incident
