# Lepu Medical: Rechargeable implantable deep brain stimulation system product has received registration approval

According to the Zhitong Finance APP, Lepu Medical (300003.SZ) announced that its holding subsidiary, Lepu Medical Electronic Instruments Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Lepu Medical Electronics"), has independently developed a rechargeable implantable deep brain stimulator, implantable deep brain stimulation electrode assembly, and implantable deep brain stimulation extension lead kit, which have received registration approval from the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA).

The announcement shows that deep brain stimulation (DBS) technology is a neurosurgical procedure that implants electrodes into specific locations in the brain and provides a constant or intermittent current from an implanted battery power source. By using low-frequency or high-frequency pulse electrical stimulation on brain networks, it regulates abnormal neural electrical activity, thereby alleviating symptoms.
