# The Asia-Pacific stock market fell across the board, with South Korean stock index futures dropping 5%, leading to a suspension of programmatic trading sell orders

The Nikkei 225 index fell by 2.5%, and the MSCI Asia-Pacific index dropped by 1%. The South Korean Kospi 200 index futures plummeted over 5% during the session, triggering the "Sidecar" mechanism at 9:46 AM local time, which suspended programmatic selling for 5 minutes. The last time South Korea triggered this mechanism was in April of this year.
