# According to reports, Taiwan Semiconductor has notified Apple of further price increases for chips next year

According to South Korean media site Naver, Taiwan Semiconductor (TSM.US) has begun notifying major customers that it will raise prices for chips below 5 nanometers starting next year. This will include Apple's (AAPL.US) A16, A17, A18, A19, M3, M4, and M5 chips, as well as all future versions, with an expected price increase of between 8% and 10%.

Previously, there were reports that the price of the A20 chip designed by Apple for next year's new iPhone could rise significantly. The A20 chip is likely to be the first widely used 2-nanometer chip, which is expected to be announced alongside the iPhone 18 series next year.

It is reported that suppliers expect that once chips using the 2-nanometer process begin mass production, the price per chip will be around $280, making it the most expensive component in the iPhone, and Apple may pass the cost of the iPhone onto customers
