# Shanghai: Promote the upgrade of standardized catering enterprises such as fast food, tea drinks, and coffee towards "unmanned and less manpower" directions

The Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce and five other departments issued the "Action Plan for Promoting the Intelligent Layout of the Catering Industry in Shanghai (2026-2028)." It proposes to promote the upgrade of standardized catering enterprises such as fast food and tea and coffee shops towards "unmanned and minimally staffed" operations. Accelerate the application of automated equipment such as smart beverage machines, automatic frying robots, hamburger assembly machines, and clay pot rice robots to achieve standardized and efficient production. Encourage enterprises to build integrated digital middle platforms to connect front-end and back-end data, enabling real-time monitoring and intelligent forecasting of sales, inventory, and losses, optimizing procurement and dynamic scheduling
