# Financial Times: Meta's Chief AI Scientist Yann LeCun plans to leave the company

According to the Financial Times, citing informed sources, Meta's Chief AI Scientist Yann LeCun intends to leave the company to start his own startup.

LeCun is in preliminary discussions to raise funds for the new company.

Meta did not immediately respond to the Financial Times' request for comment
