# Walmart's CEO will retire early next year

American retailer Walmart (WMT.US) announced on Friday that CEO Doug McMillon will retire early next year, with Walmart U.S. CEO John Furner taking over.

McMillon has served as Walmart's CEO since February 2014 and will officially retire on January 31 next year. He will continue to serve as a senior executive and advisor until January 31, 2027
