# Vantone NeoDev Group in the United States sells an 18% stake in Balyasny to Japan's MS&AD Insurance (8725.JP) for cash of $1.44 billion

MassMutual and its global asset management subsidiary Barings announced that MassMutual has reached an agreement with Japan's MS&AD Insurance (8725.JP), whereby the latter will acquire an 18% stake in Barings through its subsidiary Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Insurance. MassMutual will receive $1.44 billion in cash proceeds from the transaction and will retain an 82% stake in Barings post-transaction.

Under the strategic cooperation between the two parties, MS&AD Insurance will provide growth capital to Barings, while Barings will expand its existing relationship by managing MS&AD Insurance's investment accounts, strengthening and diversifying MS&AD Insurance's investment portfolio
