# The ChiNext Index rose and then fell, increasing by 0.25%, with aquaculture stocks collectively surging

The Shanghai Composite Index fluctuated within a narrow range throughout the day, while the ChiNext Index rose and then fell back. Aquaculture stocks surged collectively, with ZONECO, Dahu Co., Ltd., and several other stocks hitting the daily limit. Gold stocks rallied in the afternoon, with ShenZhongHua A hitting the daily limit and ZHONGJIN GOLD reaching the daily limit. The military industry sector performed actively, with Jianglong Shipbuilding and China Shipbuilding Defense hitting the daily limit. On the downside, recently popular sectors such as Fujian and Hainan fell, with Haima Automobile and Sanmu Group hitting the daily limit down. The indices showed a divergence between the yellow and white lines, with more stocks declining than rising. Approximately 4,200 stocks in the Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Beijing markets were in the red, with today's trading volume at 1.74 trillion. By the close, the Shanghai Composite Index rose by 0.18%, the Shenzhen Component Index remained flat, and the ChiNext Index rose by 0.25%
