For the week ending November 15, the number of initial jobless claims in the United States was 220,000, compared to an expectation of 227,000.

At the same time, as an indicator of the total number of people continuing to receive unemployment benefits, the number of continuing claims recorded 1.974 million, slightly higher than the expected 1.95 million.
