# TSMC sues former executive Luo Wei-ren for allegedly leaking secrets after joining Intel

Taiwan Semiconductor (TSM.US) announced on Tuesday that it has filed a lawsuit against former senior vice president Luo Wei-ren in the Taiwan Intellectual Property and Commercial Court, as Luo recently transferred to Intel (INTC.US).

In an email statement, Taiwan Semiconductor stated that the lawsuit is based on the terms of the employment contract with Luo Wei-ren, the non-compete agreement signed by Luo, and relevant provisions of the Trade Secrets Act. The company pointed out that Luo is likely to use, leak, disclose, or transfer Taiwan Semiconductor's trade secrets and confidential information to Intel, making legal action necessary
