# Procter & Gamble warns: Weakness appears in some consumer goods sectors in the United States

According to Procter & Gamble (P&G) Chief Financial Officer Andre Schulten, the sales of product categories that P&G competes in have "significantly declined" in the U.S. market in October and possibly throughout November.  
The decline in sales in these areas presents "a challenging backdrop for the U.S. business," but it remains within the annual guidance range provided.  
The company will "always focus on excellent bolt-on acquisition opportunities," primarily looking for brands in the healthcare and beauty categories that can be scaled up
