# Anthropic is preparing for an IPO, expected to go public as early as 2026, with a valuation likely close to $350 billion

According to a report by the Financial Times, AI startup Anthropic is beginning preparations for its IPO, which could take place as early as 2026. It is reported that Anthropic has discussed potential IPO plans with major investment banks, with an expected valuation of between $300 billion and $350 billion, but no underwriters have been selected yet.

## Supported by Investments from Microsoft and Nvidia

The report indicates that Anthropic received a $15 billion investment commitment from Microsoft and Nvidia last month, which is expected to be part of Anthropic's push for an IPO. On the other hand, Anthropic's competitor OpenAI was valued at $500 billion last October, so if these two AI companies proceed with their IPOs, they could set a new record for U.S. tech startups.

An Anthropic spokesperson responded that it is quite common for companies of Anthropic's scale and revenue level to operate effectively like public companies, but emphasized that no decisions have been made regarding when or even whether to go public, and there is currently no news to share
