# Cordlife faces $5.45m in claims over 109 damaged cord blood units

**It was ordered by the court to pay clients $50,000 per damaged unit.**

Cordlife Group Limited is directed to pay its clients who have stored 109 cord blood units (CBUs) $50,000 per damaged unit for failure to properly store and preserve the CBUs.

The claims amounted to a total of $5.450m, according to a bourse filing.

Cordlife, which was found negligent, breached contract when it damaged the CBUs, it added.

The claims made were received by Cordlife in March 2025.

The claimants were clients of the company whose CBUs are stored in the damaged and high-risk tanks, the filing added.

Cordlife will update its shareholders on developments related to the case, it said.
