# Is the GPU depreciation too long?

The core logic behind the "big short" on NVIDIA is that "the depreciation period of GPUs is considered too long."

An executive from the "AI cloud newcomer" CoreWeave stated that the demand for the older H100 model is the strongest ("sold out") because the software library is mature, and engineers are very familiar with it. He mentioned that many customers are renewing H100 contracts for several years at a price only 5% lower than the original price.
