Latest Assessment of the Energy Storage Industry: Shipment Growth Rate Expected to Reach Approximately 40% by 2026
On December 9th, the 2025 Fourth High-tech Energy Storage Annual Conference opened in Shenzhen. Data released on-site by the High-tech Industry Research Institute (GGII) indicates that the global and Chinese energy storage battery shipment growth rates are expected to exceed 80% in 2025. In particular, the growth rate of "mid-tier" lithium battery companies is rapid, with ChuNeng New Energy, HaiChen Energy Storage, and SUNWODA seeing shipment growth of over 150% year-on-year in the first three quarters of this year; BYD, Zhongchuang Xinhang, Envision AESC, and Great Power have seen shipment growth of over 100% year-on-year. Looking ahead to the shipment growth rate in 2026, the median forecast from several company executives in attendance is about 40%. Many guests remain optimistic about the growth in market demand, but tight production capacity and potential price increases may suppress shipment growth rates. (Shanghai Securities Journal)
