# Vail Resorts Cuts Lift Prices To Boost Visits

Vail Resorts is trying to bring more skiers back to the slopes this winter, rolling out one of its biggest lift-ticket discounts in years. The company said guests who buy tickets four or more weeks ahead will now save 30% or more at 12 of its top mountains. It's a notable shift from previous seasons, when early savings mostly came through Epic Pass products or booking a week in advance.

The new offer means a skier at Vail Mountain who plans ahead could pay $229 on peak days instead of $299, and much less than the $335 walk-up price. Similar cuts apply across resorts like Breckenridge, Park City, Whistler Blackcomb and Stowe.

Vail has struggled through a few disappointing seasons, and CEO Robert Katz recently admitted the company needs to reconnect with guests. The hope is simple: lower prices, more visitors, better momentum. The promotion lifted MTN shares about 2% at Tuesday's open.
