# The Federal Reserve's "dot plot" shows that the median forecast for interest rates in 2026 remains unchanged

Federal Reserve Economic Outlook Summary (SEP): It is expected to cut interest rates by 25 basis points in 2026, maintaining the long-term fund rate expectation at 3%.

The median interest rate expectation for 2026 is 3.4%, 3.1% for 2027, and 3.1% at the end of 2028.

The median core PCE inflation expectation for 2025 is 3%, and 2.5% for 2026.

The median GDP growth expectation for 2025 is 1.7%, with an expected increase of 2.3% in 2026.

The median unemployment rate expectation for 2025 is 4.5%, and 4.4% for 2026
