# From "National Subsidy" to "Local Subsidy," Consumer Loan Interest Subsidies Welcome New Players

Since December, some urban and rural commercial banks have leveraged local fiscal power to open up a new market for consumer loan "local subsidies." Regional banks such as BANK OF GUIZHOU, BANK OF GUIYANG, Bank Of Chengdu, and Chengdu Rural Commercial Bank have stated that in order to reduce the cost of consumer credit for residents and help unleash the consumption potential of residents, they are launching consumer loan subsidy services. Previously, the loan handling institutions for the consumer loan "national subsidy" business did not include urban and rural commercial banks. Industry insiders have stated that compared to the consumer loan "national subsidy," which has a wide coverage and relatively uniform standards, the consumer loan "local subsidy" has stronger regional flexibility, which can not only bring new business growth points to regional banks but also stimulate the local consumption market.
