The incident happened on Monday at MacArthur Park in Los Angeles. A woman said she ordered the driverless ride for her daughter and when it arrived, they noticed a man in the trunk. "Why the \[expletive\] are you in the trunk?" the woman is heard asking the stranger. " ... I'm trying to figure this out," the man responds. "This \[expletive\] won't let me out." Apparently, the man had entered the Waymo after a previous rider left the trunk open at a drop off. Eyewitness News reached out to Waymo and a spokesperson issued the following statement: "We're committed to keeping our riders safe and earning the trust of the communities where we operate. This experience was unacceptable, and we are actively implementing changes to address this."
