# The world's strongest independent developers: The ultimate winners of the AI competition will be Google, Musk, and Chinese companies

Pieter Levels, known as levelsio, who claims to be the world's strongest independent developer, posted on X that he has just purchased over $1 million worth of Alphabet stock, as Sergey Brin's return has suddenly made Google not only dominant in AI benchmarks and rankings but also in actual usage.

Levels further commented that in the AI race, the only potential winners may be Google, Elon Musk, and Chinese companies. The models he uses are all from Google, xAI, or China, including ByteDance, Kuaishou, and Minimax.

He wrote: "As you know, Google now has its own chips (TPU), Google has the largest video dataset (YouTube), images (Google Images), and general web (LLM), and still has one of the largest general user bases (Google Search, etc.), and they finally have a real engineer who is now the de facto CEO (Sergey Brin).

You cannot short Elon Musk and his xAI because he has the absolute willpower to get things done.

The Chinese are similar, with absolute willpower; they don't sleep, and they really want to win. Companies like ByteDance also have a massive video dataset."

Levels also revealed: "A few months ago, I reduced my investment in NVIDIA because their chips will inevitably face real competitors at some point, and now there is Google's TPU."

Musk commented under Levels' post: "Hardware is the ultimate game."
