The updated electric sedan will offer battery packs with capacities of 51.8-kWh, 61.6-kWh, and 62.2-kWh, delivering a range of up to 640 kilometers, according to a Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) document released last week. With the same 62.2-kWh battery capacity, the updated Mona M03 gains an additional 20 kilometers of range. The Mona M03 starts at RMB 119,800 ($17,020), roughly half the price of Tesla's (NASDAQ: TSLA) Model 3 in China. This competitive pricing has made the model Xpeng's best-selling vehicle, consistently contributing significant volume. The updated Mona M03 has entered the MIIT regulatory filing catalog, showing no significant changes in core specifications or exterior design. The updated Mona M03 measures 4,785 mm in length, 1,896 mm in width, and 1,445 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,815 mm. This length is 5 mm longer than the current model, while other dimensions remain unchanged. Beyond the updated Mona M03, the latest regulatory filings indicate that the battery electric vehicle (BEV) version of Xpeng's X9 MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) will also receive an update. The updated X9 BEV features a 110-kWh battery pack, delivering a CLTC range of 710-750 kilometers.
