# Tesla Cybertruck is going to be a $35,000 truck in 18 months, expert says

Tesla Cybertruck used prices are declining as more trucks reach two years old. Doug DeMuro, a popular car reviewer who became somewhat of a car pricing expert through his auction site Car and Bids, now predicts the Tesla Cybertruck will be selling for just $35,000 in 18 months.

When Tesla initially set the base price of a new Cybertruck at $40,000 when unveiling the truck in 2019, but the electric pickup truck started at $80,000 when it was officially launched in 2023.

Along with a lower range and fewer features, it significantly reduced the truck’s value proposition and resulted in a commercial flop with Tesla only selling the Cybertruck at about 10% of its production capacity.

The Cybertruck is also not holding its value very well, like most Tesla vehicles.
